Hi there, I have a client whose existing site is still operating. To avoid a lapse in time between the old and the "new" site (which I'm building) I'd like them to review what I've designed without replacing the existing site. How can I do this while the site is offline? I was advised by support to point the DNS server to vodahost but then this compromises my objective? Any other ideas? I've been researching the forum for a few hours. Much appreciated, Lynn www.WebsitesforSmallCompanies.com |

Lynn what I typically do is run a few test pages from my own site (as a page extension) Something like www.mydomain.com/myclientspage.html and you can do this for any page you want to show them. You can always remove them off your server later. Once your client is happy, then publish them to their own hosting account. Its all in the preperation, make sure you have every page ready. Then repoint to the new name servers Then set up any email addresses Then publish the pages You will get website downtime!! because repointing domains can take upto 24 hours to probgate (sometimes quicker). Plan the big move on an evening or a weekend or simply tell your client to expect some down time.
