Thread: Redirect to another site not VH

Hi,

I'm using the redirect feature in my control panel for my domain with VH.

Do I need to continue to pay for web hosting with VH, i'm on a monthly plan (nothing personal, service has been great, just circumstance).

My domain was registered with VH.

What's the best thing to do, a redirection but cancel hosting? or how do I point my domain to my new provider? I am not the most clued up on this stuff.

well you have dns servers with bv your old hosting company, now you should have new dns servers with your new hosting company. if you cancel your account with bv, i would look into transfering your domain name to another registrar or if you dont do that contact bv and have them point your domain to the new dns servers.

You understand that BV designed pages will not work with non VH servers?

Righto thanks. Do I need to transfer the domain as I think I recently renewed for a year or 2.

Redirecting to another site will require you to still mantain your hosting account where your server is located with VodaHost.

If you cancel the VodaHost hosting account would mean you are terminating the source and origin of your redirection.

Am I not right in thinking I can cancel hosting but have my domain that I purchased with vh pointed to new servers or something?

I am not quiet sure but you have to submit a support ticket to find out.

Unlike other Registrars of Domain names when you are provided a cpanel to administer your Domains, I think VodaHost is not in the same category, as VH only provides a cPanel when you buy a hosting account.

Check it out with VH Support.
