Thread: Addon domain purchase, how long before complete setup

Hi, my main domain here is vcojci.org and I purchased an addon domain just hours ago. I'm planning to install a Wordpress blog on it using Fantastico in CPanel. Just asking when will I be able to do it. I mean how long will it take for the new domain to be functional? And also, will I receive a confirmation email when it's already working?

New domains can be established within just a few hours, sometimes not...allow up to 24 hours.

Couple of questions though

1) Have you changed the name servers to those of VH (same ones as for your primary domain)
2) Have you created an 'addon domain' in the Control Panel to create the folder for the new site?

... and no you won't get a confirmation email.

Thanks for the reply, where can I change the nameservers? I thought I wouldn't need to do that anymore since I bought the domain from VH also.

And yes, I already created an addon domain in my CPanel.

I would submit a ticket to support unless of course you have some kind've admin panel where you can do this yourself. I don't by domain names from VH but I am pretty sure you can do what you need to do here www.vodahost.net. You need your 'billing' login credentials to access it.
