Thread: add a new domain to my existent account

1.) I already have a account with blue voda with a domain that i got with the account ,


2.) But i would like to (add) an buy a new domain name to put onto the same account

3.) But my new domain name (do not) have any thing to do with my First my other domain name they are (two different subjects and websites)

4.) what is that called a...... (add on domain)......or a .... (sub domain name)


5.) and how do i do it ( and how will i build my new website for my new domain name) with out it effecting my first domain on the same account ?

6.) QUESTION: do a person that comes to my (new domain website) see any thing about my (first domain) in the address browser

because i (do not) wont them to be associated in any way at all to each other...



7.) and from the time that i first buy my new domain name how long will it take before i can start to build my new website for it (the new domain name)???

You can have two totally unconnected websites by having one as an add-on domain. That way no-one will know that they are even hosted under the same account. A sub-domain, on the other hand, may show it's redirection in the browser progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

You can start building your new site now if you want to use BlueVoda. You just create a new sub-directory in your BlueVoda file, for example site2, and save all your new pages in the new sub-directory. As long as you're careful - never the twain shall meet.

Then depending on whether your new domain is an add-on or a sub will depend how you publish. But as Brad pointed out the tutorial should explain that.

You seem to know a great deal about the workings here in voda host, so, I hope you do not mind me asking this. I am building a new site, I need to know:

1. Can you name your new sub domain site as : www.newname.metoyu.com without having to see if the new name is taken, or
2. Do you have to do the same as with a Domain name and purchase the sub domain name too? I appreciate any help you can give, or anyone can give on this subject.

Thank you Naval Design, I had already figured it all out by myself and had the site up and running by the time I got your answer. But I REALLY do appreciate yours and Bethers answers to me. Thank you both so much. I figured buying a new domain name every time I build a new site would be ridiculous, I think it is easier to use the sub domain option Voda Host offers. I do want to know though, every time I add a new sub domain, it will just show the new name plus .metoyu.com, not every other sub domain I created and the .metoyu, correct? I think it will just show the new name and .metoyu.com. Correct me if I am wrong.

Correct. It will only show the chosen subdomain name together with the metoyu.com , f.e. www.newsubdomain.metoyu.com
