Thread: Using my domain for a mobile site

I would like to get a mobile website . I already have a website with VH www.DeliveranceMinister.com I would like to use this domain name for the mobile website.
I am thinking about going with Bmobilzed. They want me to ask Blue Voda to point my sub domain name to their server. Is this free or do I have to buy a sub domain.
I don't know how to do this. How do I sub domain deliveranceminister.com
I will be keeping my hosting with BV and have a mobile site.

If you are getting a website from someone else, then they are asking you to change the DNS/Nameserver information of the DOMAIN so it directs traffic to their server and your hosted "account." This is done wherever the domain is currently registered, in their customer panel.

You will in fact need to use a separate domain, not a "sub-domain" and not an "add-on domain" ... a totally separate and independent domain. If you do not have one, you will need to purchase one.

If this new website is truly a "Mobile" website specially formatted for hand-held devices, you will need to purchase a ".mobi" type domain so it will properly be accepted into the MOBI Directory (a requirement).

You could do all of this yourself (making a mobile formatted website) using Blue Voda and the hosting account you already have at VodaHost without spending a lot of money or really knowing what you're getting onto by getting other people involved (always seems to add to the confusion), simply by following the instructions and by using the technologies detailed in this thread.

"Coulda-woulda-shoulda" can be avoided with knowledge that enables, right?
