Default images not shown after publishing

Hi everyone,

I published my website and none of the images are shown.

It is an add-on site, and I do have it in the public_html folder,
and then it is in the folder with the new website name.

When it is being published, it shows that the image files are being published.

I have tried it as an html page, and as a blue voda doc. and nothing works.

Then I tried making another folder within the web name folder to
see it that worked, and still no luck.

I sure hope someone out there can help.....

Thanks,

Ina

Hi again,

Thanks for responding so soon.

Hi David,

I published the site again without the google ads, then again without the box of links, then again without the dictionary box, then again without the marquee.........still no images.

(I changed the name so I wouldn't mess up my index site)

http://www.finding-info.com/1.html

I also published a page with the header from the index page, and from other graphics that I have on my original domain sites. Here's what I got.

http://www.finding-info.com/temp.html

I know that asking support does not help...I get the same answer over and over....publish under public_html/finding-info.

That is exactly what I am doing.

I am at a lost, and feeling very frustrated because I want to get this thing going........

Thanks,

Ina

Ina,
Go to : http://uandmelinkup.com

and you will see your index page complete with photos

(2 books and a futuristic looking city header)

your index page is not complete on my website and I will delete it when we have solved your problem........

I found something interesting, but disturbing, because I don't know what
did wrong.

http://www.quickloadbooks.com/finding-info/index.html

quickloadbooks.com is my original site on this server.

In public_html, I have another folder, finding-info.

that is where I uploaded my index file.

As far as hot link protection....no, not that I know of.

So now that even though this was an ah ha moment, I still have no idea what I did wrong.

Did I give you any clues as to how and what I did??

Thanks,

Ina

Did you go into your Cpanel to create your addon domain finding-info.com ?
because this
http://www.quickloadbooks.com/finding-info/index.html

shows finding-info in all its glory....................

If I am not mistaken you have finding-info.com
AND a folder in your root also called finding-info
so you are publishing to your root folder and not to your addon domain.....

Call your addon domain folder something like find1 and then publish to
public_html/find1 and then when you look at finding-info.com you should be seing your index and other pages OK.

delete the folder in your root called finding-info
(you should still have all your pages on your computer)........

goodnight everyone

NO NO NO. If he has added the www.finding-info.com as addon domain, the system itself has created the finding-info folder, and it is associated to the www.finding-info.com through the DNS system. deleting the folder will result in the site not showing up at all. Unless when creating the addondomain, the folder associated with www.finding-info.com was manually set to something else and not "finding-info"

Most probably the folder associated with www.finding-info.com in the DNS system is called somewhat else. If you want, use my form to give me your loggin info and i'll have a look for you.

I had this same problem the first time I added on a new domain name
and support advised me to DELETE the FOLDER and call it something simple
like ucom1 not uandmelinkup and it worked for me over 5 new domain names.

You can delete and then recreate an addon whenever you wish but you only really need to change the second box(normally generated by program) and that is what I advised.

Still there are always different ways of explaining and doing the same thing.....As long as the problem gets sorted.

Yes, you can delete the folder, but if it is registered with the DNS system (as it is for addon domains) this will result in site not showing up. Unless you delete not the folder but the addon domain, and then add it again associating the new, simply named folder. Anyway, this case was much simpler: Hotlink ptotection had been enabled but for the main domain, www.finding-info.com had not been added to the enabled urls. This was the reason why when going through www.quickloadbooks.com/finding-info everything was working ok. Quickloabooks was enabled, finding-info not.

Everything should be ok now.
