Default Getting Ranked Page To Show Properly

The page I want to reference in SE's is an i-frame that is part of the home page, it has the most important info.
If it gets ranked on google etc, how can I ensure that if it gets clicked that the page won't open on it's own but along with the home page it's part of?

If you use an i-frame, you can't be positive how the se's will see it or rank it. I know others disagree with that - but it's what I've found - and why I'm very careful how I use i-frames.

I don’t think you can. I am having the same problem myself. I think the only way to help this is to place a link to your home page on all the iframe pages. It seems to be a down side to frames. I have quite a few Google ads sense banners in iframes & you have to give it M/tags to help the content of the ads, but this will also helps google find you & that iframe page.

Thanks a lot Chris and Beth.
I don't really want to lose the i-frame, I'll play around a bit and see what I can do, how do you assign an m/tag?

    Hi Beth!
You seem like a bof on SEO from the posts of yours I've read.
Tell me, must your keywords and page definition be interlinked with those used appearing on the page in question?

You should make most pages with individual Meta tags to the topic or main importance of that page; I believe this is the same for your iframe pages. You may find some exceptions like contact pages & about us. You may think about using words that are successful from other parts of your site or of general importance to the whole site to place on these pages, as I don’t think many will search for contact us.
I have wondered if the page name can influence a SE & if some extra words here can help. So instead of contact us, something more related to your site may be of help. Beth would be better for advice on this part. So check 1st.

    Good luck

    Chris.

The use of I-Frames is a killer for SE development: everything below the i-frame will be lost to the spiders......
HTML is horizontally formatted (as is CSS, the BV language), and to install a delimiter such as an I-Frame tells the SE's that everything else is "less important" and needs to be "separated" from page continuity, as it "suggests" an over-emphasis on meta/KW/etc.
    >> That is why the newer version of BV has a clone button (it's not to simply make it easier to *******te pages, folks!).

For "older sites" that have I-Frames as the solution for nav bars and headers, I would suggest re-design around the use of the Clone function, to re-emphasize relevancy and to accomplish true SEO.

Is there a tutorial on the clone function?

to go back to SEO - it's vital that the meta match the page - it does you no good to have meta that is all over the place - and you want each page to be optimized for only 2-5 keword phrases - or it dilutes the effects.

Of course! It's in the updated BV tutorials, should be under "Elements"...

    Sorry Vasili.
Suffer from sometimes-I-lose-brain-cells syndrome, got the clone icon and it works like a dream

it all depends on how an iframe is used - as it actually is 2 different pages - and sometimes the se's will not read what's in the frame as being on the same page - and sometimes they will send people to the page the iframe is on - without the rest. It shouldn't effect page rank - just usage of pages. Personally, I prefer to not use them for various seo reasons - although I would use them to put in terms of service, etc - I won't use them for navigation purposes.
