My website is a dedicated site for my family tree dating back to 1700+ which has a database of close to 5000 family members one half of which is still alive. For those who would like to continue their own and extended family tree, they would have to buy a family tree software together with the database from my website.

I intend to open a OS commerce store within my website to service my customers to sell the family tree software, customized family charts and other related products.

Do I have to apply for a Texas Business Permit or licence for me to operate my online store?.

No you do not need this. Your business is based in Malaysia, you are just renting data storage in Texas.
