Hi, am building a business website and i need to choose a suitable domain name because i figure if i can get the name right then the site would take of, right?
let me tell u the purpose of this site
1. To advertise land, house, cars ect. for sale
2. To advertise guest houses, hotels ect.
3. To advertise shops, restaurants, supermakets ect.
4. A little entertainment.
Am living in Jamaica, West Indies
and i would like the site to have the word "jamaica" in it

The name is one of the smallest parts of how a website takes off. You need to build the site properly, using proper techniques, then you need to market it properly.

Pick a name that will make sense for what you do and be easy for people to remember, but don't expect the name will make or break your business. If it was that easy, there would be no names available.

I would suggest making which part of Jamaica you are in part of your domain name, only because it seems most of what you are offering is to local residents, and if you focus on being big in all of Jamaica, you will lose a lot of specific traffic that is 'searching' for a narrower field.

How about a domain like "ShopJamaica.com" or "JamaicaValueNetwork.com" ??? So when people search for shopping in jamaica, or are looking for values, it comes up, and then will be delivering the kind of customers you want anyway? Then you have to create your pages to make it all work too.

For instance, when listing key words and tagging different pages (as well as writing content on the page) if you are focused on the area around Ocho Rios and are advertising a market, a **** store, and a car lot, you would be better off finding a way to squeeze in St. Anne parish, or maybe something like "St. Anne offers best prices on cars and fashion" ... as a phrase rather than a Key Word. Try to keep your phrases to a maximum of 5 words, and nor more than say 7 phrases.

I have found that this works best, and that by planning the details like this makes the whole website easier to build.

BTW....I purposely listed these because if you play with some of the key words, you will find at least 3 vairants available for each, for a total of approximately 40 currently available domains similar to the few above.

And, there are many really nice Premiums available, some for as little as $200. I suppose it depends on how important it is to you to have a domain be so tightly tied into your site purpose and part of the natural Search value it can provide.

I also like the suggestion made by General LadyEye ("JamaicaLifestyles") as it sounds perfect for an online magazine format and is not priced as a Premium domain. Keeping "beautiful" in the domain name is not as wise, in my opinion, for it has nothing to do with what you said you intended the site to be: you can, however, create a clever slogan to include "beautiful" and better round out your business identity and establish recognizability at the same time (create a Brand).
