| ok, let's say i wanted to create a huge website with lots of automated functions. for example a kind of directory like yellow pages or online shop. i'd need large navigation menus (actually a whole tree), search function, newsletter subscription, guestbook, shop, maybe dozens of pages... i just realize, the easiest thing would be to copy amazon.com it seems way too much for me alone, i don't even want to think about all the possible mistakes. how would you go about this?

| For the best all-in-one solution (rather than try to mesh a buch of stand alones) that includes all of the features and functions including a cart as available and easy-to-install plug-ins, I say "Go Joomla"!

| thanks vasili, i'll take a look at joomla. it seems like they have a big developer and support community which is imo critical. however, if someone else has suggestions i'm all ears.

| If you can't come about finding something for free, or any other suggestions which I really don't have at the moment for you, you can always hire someone to get that code done for you - and I would be glad to help you out on that one if ever. Maybe you can try and play with Joomla see if you like it and if it works for you, or maybe try Word Press. |

| thanks jeremy right now i installed joomla and i'm going through the tutorial. what i definetely need, would be automated processes to submit, newsletter subscription, forms, etc...and a fully automated shop/paypal system. i don't know how much you can do with joomla in that case. we'll see. this can only be great or total failure, in my experience...*g*
