Default Domain Name Dilemma

Hey everybody... I have been working on developing a new website (just planning) and have narrowed down my domain name possibilities to two selections. Just based on ease and "catchiness," which sounds best to you?

1. TwitterWork.com
2. WorkBolt.com

Thank you for your suggestions!

Personally? Unless either of them contained a Key Word of a Brand already in use or with enough supporting relevance on the net presently, neither of them scores with me: they are too far from normal use of English, do not reflect commonly entered Search requests, nor do they have a "promotional" value that is obvious......

"Twitter" may suggest gossip, chatter, talk-about-twon, etc. and may suffice for a blog or forum, but without knowing your intentions for a site, it's like hunting silently for sparrows wearing cement boots at night.

"WorkBolt" sounds like either a "nut and bolt", running from work, a lightning strike, or simply an idea. You tell me --- what is it?

IMO

haaaaa... tough question, almost a trick, LOL ..
My thoughts ..
I think both are easy, two word domains are good, twitterwork is a tad catchier, but both have two different thoughts for me, fun or necessity, LOL ..

The website and business I am looking to create and grow is one which offers web-space for individuals or groups to offer their services, whether technical or physical, for hire to those individuals and companies seeking it. The website upon growth may also evolve to offer space for companies to bid on large commercial, industrial, and residential projects posted by others . Also, membership is something I would like to offer on the website at three levels upon which must be purchased to access certain features.

That is just a little about my ideas so far, but hopefully it will give you all some insight as to what this website would be like. Thanks again for all your comments!

Ambitious, to be sure!

Keep in mind the aspects of Domain/KeyWords, and how you will fare better if your domain "naturally" reflects site purpose. Otherwise, you should be prepared for tradtional marketing mediums, which most never seem to write into their Business Plan (if they even know what one is!).

Good Luck!

haha yeah, I'm a pretty ambitious person you could say but I do realize (especially with little experience) the magnitude of this project. I have always been interested and involved with entrepreneurship and have ideas come to me every once in a while that I choose to entertain. Anyways, I feel like I would like to have a partner in this effort with me. Has anyone here had any experience with a partnership project? Would you recommend it? How do I go about finding someone responsible, honest, dependable, and passionate?

Wink Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan ... Do Your Best, Then TEST-TEST-TEST

Partners? I avoid them like the plague! Never had either an example nor an experience that perfomred, operated, or ended well.

Your use of words belies much of your intent, in my opinion.
If you are loking for effectively paertnering with regard to talent, stick with playing the role of employer: rely on managing tasks and results within your "budget" and expectations.
If you are looking for money, then you better have all your ducks in a row, and have more than the ability to properly communicate your "idea," but the documentation that would allow others to valuate your potential appropriately. Communication (and ability to use it aptly and precisely) is foundation of most of life's success, and business takes no exception (especially online). Might want to polish up a bit....

An idea is merely a musing until it is transformed into an immutable reality that can be recognized by others, transformed, evolved, or modified according to need or reasonable influence.

> If your idea merits, "partners" will flock to you, and then you need only concern yourself with winnowing the chaff professionally.
.

Your site is it going to be like a recruitment service you are offering, or training facilities. Just try seek a name that would represent your website. So trying to work out what sort of services you would be actually offering if any?

I am simply offering a place for anyone looking for work who can offer something to others or companies looking to hire for specific projects. ie. electrical for small home, teenager looking to do yard work and posts his availability in his area, or even companies offering bids on large industrial and commercial job sites such as a large assisted living being built and developed. The span of the website is large but the idea is the same all around. Simply a way for the two sides to connect and collaborate, barter and work together.

Oh....more like a "Classifieds" or "Directory" site?

Start small, and create a neighborhood/regional "core" clientele .... that's exactly how Craig started his "List" here in San Francisco -- now it has local editions worldwide! Takes a lot of 'administrative effort' to matriculate into a viable hot-spot....

Yeah, I equate it to much like those "freelance" work websites where people post their services and availability along with pricing, while people looking to hire can post projects for others to view. The membership would be in levels (ie. individual, small business, company). Starting slow and local sounds like a great idea, but I would like my site to be much more professional and organized that craigslist, therefore I am in the search for templates, scripts, and more... Hopefully I can keep all this moving! I'm excited!

I would vote for something more descriptive like handsonlist, list4work, giveandtakelist, getworklist (gettoworklist kind of reads wrong). Good luck, if you had a way to find honest people (a real bs detector) you could make a million right there. I agree about partners being a pain. Master of the Universe works best.
