I haven’t even started jet and I’m already stuck.
I hope someone can orient me!

This is what I want to do:

I’m trying to build a web where me and my friends can organize very simple events, and this is what I would like it to do:

Login page with password etc.. as well as user main page with the profile with contacts, search contacts etc..., invitations to events and information about the events we send each other, a little applications to create the event and some other simple features.

I would like my friends to create events which must remain in the web as web pages so we can upload photos and videos to that event and see it in the future.
Also each event should have a list where other contacts can sign.


I thought this was easy, but it seems I have to do a dynamic web. I’ve tried some CMS open source programs, but they have to many options for me, they are too big. And my biggest problem is that I do not know programming.

As I try to step forward I THINK, BUT NOT SURE, that with some scripts from here and there and some Bluevoda pages I can do I can do it.

I am thinking of using Navaldesigns Login scripts for the first step, but my question is: As my users will have to interact with each other, should I try to carry on from here my self? or should I try to find a programmer for everything else? I do no want to learn programming.

Or should I find some customizable script, as this is a very common application?

Pretty much everything you are wanting to do will need to be programmed.

I don't know offhand of anything that does exactly what you are wanting to achieve (perhaps check http://hotscripts.com). I'm not sure if you are going to find anything does won't have a bunch of other features you don't want as I can't see there being many scripts already made that have just what your looking for. They will most likely be more general ones that have a all different kinds of functionality.

From the sounds.. you are wanting some sort of social site. Perhaps a forum would better suit you in those terms. Forums allow for creation of users and memberships and even to charge to allow people into some created rooms.... or need a password or invitation to enter the room and participate. There are addons for forums for small games etc..

Except for the application to create an event? what kind of event? On line conference?
