Thread: Can send e-mail but can not receive email

Hi

I have an add-on domain autofinance.co.za under riebens.com. I can send mail just fine from this account (autofinance.co.za) but I can not receive any mail. The senders don't get a error message or anything the mails just doesn't arrive - there are gone

What can the solution be?

Hi Ria.. are you accessing your web mail or using a program like Outlook or outlook express..??

I tried with webmail and outlook and outlook express there is nothing in my in box.

1. Check that you setup the account correctly.. login cpanel and check your mail accounts.
2. Check to see if there are any filters or blocks or anti spammers activiated and see if they are causing the problem.
3. give me the email address you are trying to receive messages on.. I'll have a try.

I can't see any thing that will block the e-mail

Is it just one person who cant send you email? If it is the problem might be on ther side, they might have a dirty IP and are being blocked. Also please make sure that your MX records are correct.

yep.. that's why I asked for the address.

I sent an email anyways lets see if this one gets through.

It is not just one person, and it is not a dirty IP address. I have tried to send to this address (or any of the others) from three different locations in South Africa but still no e-mail is getting through.

MX records sounds like a forwarding thing..

Do you have email forwarding activated..??

In any case, this should take only a few seconds.. go into Cpanel, delete the account, then recreate it again.. and let me know.. I'll try again.

By the way, when did you activate your addon..? is it fully active and accessible..?

Thanks for all the help. I have found the problem - it was the MX records that pointed to the wrong mail server but it is fixed now.
