Thread: re: configuring outlook email

I set up my outlook email account according to the instructions.

Result:

- ALL emails from my web email acct were retrieved into outlook email acct, but
- cannot send email from the Outlook email account, only receive emails from my web account

- I have tried to input my ISP into the SMTP rather than my website name as suggested but to no avail.
- I have tried to manually and automatically (unencrypted with MS Ofc Pro 2007) configure the Outlook email account to no avail

Any suggestions would be most welcome

Who is your ISP?? if it's AOHell, then you can't send, only receive.

THe broadband ISP is 'Netvigator' located in Hong Kong.

Any other suggestions on a course of action to fix this problem is very much appreciated.

Here is the solution i have used ...hope it helps everyone!

1. Go to setup email acct in Outlook
2. Complete 'User Info', 'Email addr' of your vodahost acct
3. Server type POP 3
4. Incoming Mail server: type in 'mail.yourwebsiteaddr.com'
5. Outgoing Mail server: typie in 'smtp.yourISPprovider.com'
6. Logon Info: your email addr (ex. john@xcompany.com) at vodahost and password
7. Click on: 'More settings'
8. Click: 'outgoing server', then tick box 'my outgoing server requires....'
9. Click: 'logon using' input your user name with your ISP, (ex. john****.com) and the password, tick 'remember password'
10. Joila! you are now setup
