    Default incoming email question

    Hello,

I have missed a few important emails (fortunately the senders called later) and have noticed that I am not getting confirmation emails from my shipping company that I always have gotten in the past. As of about 3 weeks ago I have noticed this problem. I have gone through to double check my settings, I talked to the shipping company, they say check my ISP. I have talked to my ISP and they say we have no filters.

So, I am coming here to see if anybody can offer me some help.

    Thanks!

Have you checked to make sure they aren't going into a spam folder?

Jeremy, I will check that out! It is just so scary when you are potentially losing very important emails $$$

    Bethers,
There is no spam folder for our ISP. I have filters set up to put stuff in my own spam folder but, I always check that.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Maybe the senders IP is black listed, you should not always blame yourself. Tell them to check.

Hi Jeremy! What is MX and what is it used for? I have been having a problem receiving emails from certain people for the last few weeks that I didn't have before. I'm trying to figure out if it is their problem or mine. But in the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as I can. MX??? I see that in my cpanel, but what does it do? Thanks for your help!

    Hey!

If you ever want to change your e-mail provider, instead of cPanel, and use the service that Microsoft offers for example you would need to change your MX Entry when you register, an MX Entry points to what server your mail will be received and using what server to send the mail.

When you register for the www.domains.live.com you will be asked to change your MX Entry, simply copy and paste the MX code that they give you when you sign up. (This MX Entry will now become your mail server with Microsoft Live Domains)
    Best regards,
    Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy for the info. I have a support ticket in for now. But I will check domains live out! At least now I know what MX means! Thanks again.
