Questions about how to backup/save all email

Hi Everyone
How can easily save all my email onto an external hard drive (or wherever)?
To be reloaded back onto my reconfigured (serviced) computer.
I utilize Firefox, which does not allow bulk "save as"; only one by one.
There has got to be an easier way~!~!
Any ideas on... how to do... will be appreciated.

What is your email client? In your user accounts are mail profiles for windows mail and outlook.. I cant find them on vista at the moment and I have a house full so dont have time to hunt.. should be in your user files somewhere...

Because of your tip I researched into Mozilla/Thunderbird....
Back ups of email can be done through Profile
