Thanks Karen, sorry i dont understand what is isp? and how do i contact them? Is this the phone company that provides my broadband? Message says outgoing server (server requires authentication) port 25... port 465

ISP stands for Internet Service Provider, so yes you need to contact them. Their telephone will be on your monthly bill.

Thanks DarrenC, but it seems that i need more help. I have just phoned telefonica spain and they say that port 25 is open at their end and that they cant do anything for the port 465. Can anyone tell me what i have to do now please. Jill

Do you have a firewall installed on your computer (many antivirus's come with a firewall). Also are you using a router or hub (basically is there anything connected between the modem and your computer?)

yes there is a firewall and yes there is a router.

Make sure that neither is blocking the ports you need.

Depending on your router the IP to access it will change, but it will most likely either be: (whatever it is it will start with 192.16
192.168.1.0
192.168.1.1

It doesnt matter about port 25 being open. You must use your logins to the isp to send mail thru them... else youd use your domain mail

mail.yourdomain.com

and your vodahost email and password...

If it wont send then its your isp

smtp.ispdomain.com
your isp user name and passwords

Pay CLOSE attention to the OUTGOING SERVER part and HOW to find it.. here you need your ISP information

Thanks Karen, i watched the tutorial but it hasn´t helped, i dont want to add another email account as the one i set up is in the name i want so i dont know how to acess the server infomation. The email is set up in outlook not outlook 3 , the problem now is that all mail i reply to goes out in my default name and i dont know how to correct it. Thanks Jill

Just go open outlook, tools, accounts and edit

When u send mail.. should be a drop down box with all your accounts listed there and you select the one you want to send it.

Karen, i´m sorry to be such a pain but when i login to cpanel it goes straight to the page for preferences, mail, files, logs, etc. How do i get to open the outlook page with tools on it? Thannks Jill
