how to use %email% and the like

I want to learn more about how to use %email%; %subject% etc. Could you give me links, please?

%%name%% etc are strings that are replaced by the real data when performing a data merge (from a database or a file or other)

You can also find them as {name}, ??name??, ##name## etc.

The substitution is performed by your software, not manually. So you either have such a software or you need to write your own.

If you explain better what you want to do we might be able to provide more info.
