Ok, the last time that I had my laptop away from home, I could not usemy email. I'm using WindowsMail. I'll be away from home but I want to bring my laptop and still be able to check my mail. Is there a way I can do it when I'm using someone else's internet. Does it have something to do with IPs? Plus since I'll be using AT&T internet soon, I'll get to use internet from Starbucks for free. BUT it doesn't count if I can't use my email! Oh and is there a way to log into a vodahost site and check my email if I'm away from my computer? Thanks!!! |

You can use webmail while away from your PC by: typing www.yourdomain.whatever/webmail in browser bar and enter username: your full email address password: as you setup in cpanel

Ok once I log in there I don't know how to check mail from there. I know, I know...but I promise I'm not always an idiot. Are there detailed instructions on how to do this?

I think Roundcube has been replaced by Squirrel Mail but the instructions should be the same. Horde and Squirrel are the same, they have just given you two options to confuse you...LOL

Thanks so much for the tutorial. Problem is, when I open roundcube, I don't see any of my emails in there. Do you have to import them? Do they all go in there? Or will I only see ones that I get after I open it?

You will only see email for your domains that you have set up there. Any other email at google, yahoo, hotmail etc wont be there.. you have to set those up seperately in some mail program like outlook.. or.. login to them as well. If you use windows mail you should be able to export your settings and import them for use on another computer. Or.. take the time to set up that computer to recieve your mail as well. Karen

Just to add to Karen... you will only see mail on the serve (in webmail) which has not been received by outlook / outlook express etc. Unless you have checked 'leave a copy of message on server' in advanced email settings when you setup the email accounts on PC.
