Default How to block spam mail

Does anyone know how to block spam mail?
Also, is there a way to increase the number of outgoing mail (on a per hour basis) (Right now we are limited to 500 emails per hour and these are not enough emails for 25 employees) They are looking to expand their sales force and obtain between 20 - 30 more employees.

Can anyone help?

Well first of all.. you shouldnt be providing employee mail on a shared server. Thats against TOS terms of service. You NEED a dedicated server for that.

Second of all.. if you send MORE than 500 emails per hour.. you will get shut down as more than that is considered spamming... I think its technically less.. should be around 200 on a shared server.

You can submit a support ticket requesting to have the limit increased if you have a valid reason.

I don't believe you would need a dedicated server. Running a public email service is against the TOS, but giving emails to your employees isn't. However keep in mind as Karen has stated, you are using shared hosting, you are sharing the same server with hundred of other Vodahost customers. If you website is using more then your fair share of the system resources you will probably need to upgrade to a higher level of hosting. One where you are either the only one using the server.. a dedicated server.. or are sharing it with a smaller amount of users.. virtual private (however VH doesn't provide these to my knowledge).

Hes not reselling granted, however, he is allowing a THIRD party mail services... which is against tos. The server is geared to shut him down after 200 emails per hour.. this is true with MOST hosting companies. They cant increase without increasing everyones.

3) Spam / Email Policy
We take a zero tolerance stance against sending of unsolicited e-mail, bulk emailing, and spam. "Safe lists" and "double Opt-in" will be treated as spam. Any user who sends out spam will have their account terminated without notice.
VodaHost Web Hosting reserves the right to require changes or disable as necessary any web site, account, database, or other component that does not comply with this policy, at its sole discretion. VodaHost also reserves the right to make any such modifications in an emergency at our sole discretion.
VodaHost reserves the right to charge the holder of the account used to send any unsolicited e-mail a clean up fee. This cost of the clean up fee is left entirely to the discretion of VodaHost.
Bulk Email / Mass Email scripts of any type are not permitted on any VodaHost server. The send mail rate on all VodaHost servers is capped at 200 emails per hour per account, any more than this will be bounced back to the sender. If you require more than this, please open a support ticket stating the reason why the 200 limit should be raised on your account and the EXACT source of your mailing list.

10) Resource Usage
Users may not initiate the following:
a) Use 5% or more of system resources (This included CPU and memory) There
are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI
scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc. If this clause is breached it will trigger an auto
kill failsafe mechanism on the server which will auto suspend the violating
account.
