There is no such thing as "full page encrypted" . The zip contains a number of BV pages, some php files that you don't need to open, and a Word Tutorial that you need to read.
If you don't see this content, you have a corrupted download.

Hi , I am having a problem with my forms- I am not getting the emails to work. The form goes to the thank you for submitting page when I hit submit but there are no emails going through?? The email address is correct.

What is ABVFP notepad ???? I am afraid i don't understand what you are talking about. There is a Word Tutorial (if you download again, you will find the same tutorial in PDF. PLEASE read the tutorial, ALL the necessary instructions are included, there is nothing more that i can add here.

This is the ABVFP thread. Are you using ABVFP to process your forms ? If not, please open a new thread of your own. If Yes, please provide a URL to your form.

I'm not sure what happened last night but I woke up to find the database was got and now I can't even access the ABFP. Any suggestions to might be the problem?

Any page that had a form connected to this has also giving my the error as well, but I'm presuming its from the database being deleted somehow??? Is there a security risk that someone can use to gain access to the database using this???

I don't see a reason why your database can have been deleted. There is no reason, to my knowledge.
You should still be able to access ABVFP up to the first page, becaus ethe DB is not required up to that point.

However, i can't see your websites either.

How do I validate radio buttons as being checked on a ABVFP v2.0 form please? i.e. I have mutliple radio button selections on a form and require at least one of them to be checked to enable form submission. If not I need an error message (Select a radio button) to be displayed.

Unfortunately you can't validate Radio Buttons or Check boxes with ABVFP v2.0 because their values simply are NOT sent if they are not checked.

We are releasing ABVFP 2.2 in a couple of days. It will allow some enhancements among which what you are asking for, just download and replace the main file and you will be ok.

I created a comment form from wizard and everything is ok but when I hit submit in preview mode it takes me to ie and won't connect to my email. Is your form processed with ABVFP ? as this is the ABVFP thread. If yes, please confirm. If not, please create a new thread.
If your form is not published, it will NOT work, as the processing scripts are all in PHP which only works on the server, not on your local computer.

Of course, if you have published, it would be nice if you posted here the Link to your form.

I have an addon doman in housesitmexico, I installed ABVFP in the addon. Turn the permission of the folder to 777 so all the files have now permission of 644 and this is what come up when I try to install:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@housesitamerica.housesitmexico.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

i have been using ABVFP FORMS in creating the tables and forms and it's been very helpful. So easy to use now that i am very familiar with it.
My question is how to use this tool to create tables and form for another database not named as ABVFP. It is actually a different application (like a subdomain) so i want to separate them from that other database called ABVFP. Is that possible?

Ys, but you have to install ABVFP again. So you will have a second installation. When you create the database for this second installation, name the database whatever you want.

You can't, however, change the table names, that will always be of the Form_Nr_? type

How do I create a database in the Control Panel?

I am following the tutorial on ABVFP and I got to
7. Create a database in your Control Panel. Name it “ABVFP”.. Create a user (or add on of the existing
users) and add this user in the “ABVFP” database.
How do I do this?

Go to the control panel to the icon Mysql database wizard and follow the instructions

Log in your Control Panel click the icon 'Mysql Database Wizard' and follow the instructions

I did it, but the new database ABVFP doesn't show up in control panel. please help

You have to create de ABVFP database, it is not there.
Go to the Database Wizard the 1 step says New Database: you type ABVFP
Then go to the next step and it is going to ask you to create a Username and a Password
that is it!!!

Please check permissions of the folder (should be 755) and permissions of the file dbts_install.php (should be 644)

I have created a form and followed the instructions to set this up. It all works OK with one EXCEPTION.

the reply e-mail sent to the person filling out the form is getting blocked by Comcast. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so how do you resolve this?

Yes, this is a well known issue with comcast. Are you using ABVFP to proccess the form ?
Is your email address (used in the form) within your own domain or not ?

Apologies for the late response to this. In the message i received from comcast was a link and some instructions. I followed the instructions in the message and requested that they unblock the source which i am pleased to say they did.

I am getting an error message though stating that there is no recipient address which i dont understand because i am getting the e-mail sent & received with a return confirmation...any suggestions?

Usually email errors report also the mail itself. Check if this error regards the main mail or the autoresponder one.
From what you say (you receive the mail) i would say that the main mail is ok, so probably the error regards the autoresponder mail In that case, probably, the problem is how you have named your email field in the form. ABVFP needs this field named Email-e or Email-eR (if required). If it is named anything else, the info is sent to you but the autoresponder mail fails because ABVFP can not recognize the visitors email address, thus the error.

Is it possible to configure an ABVFP Radio button to (upon its selection) direct someone to a specific web page when the form's Submit button is clicked please? If so what is the procedure for doing it?

ABVFP will direct the user to the predefined (through the ABVFP control panel) page. If i understand well, you want to be able to redirect instead to another page (or pages) depending on whether the user has checked or not specific radio buttons, which is not possible with the script as it is.

Seems like the user that you created doesn't have all the necessary permissions for the ABVFP database. Go in your Control panel, and change the permissions of the specific user

I have build a form using the Form Wizard. It is possbile to add a Captcha facility? If so how?

You can add a captcha in your form, using ABVFP's captcha. However, this is useless if you are using the built in form processor, because it doesn't have the ability to check the captcha value submitted.

Your only way to add a captcha easilly, is to use ABVFP. Click on the link in my signature.

It can be anything. Do NOT post your email address anywhere in the internet, as spammers can capture it and you will be getting lots of spam.

BlueVoda users: open the file contactform.bvp from the “BV Pages” folder

I see that when i do this, it creates a page for itself.

What i'm trying to do is use the index page i've created as a template, which will include the contact form.

Once the form is created on the index page, i want to save it as a template from which i will create all the other pages.
Therefore, the form will be present on all pages.

What i'm asking is - can the form be transferred from the page it initially opens to, to my index page, and can it be rep licated onto each page of my site?

Yes, you CAN re plicate the form as you say. However, ABVFP is a script that performs strict submission control, in order to avoid spam. So it actually checks for the provenience of the submission. And, it will refuse processing the form if it doesn't come from the page where it is supposed to be on.
Consequently, though you may re_plicate the form in all pages, you will NOT be able to process it, unless you setup EACH and EVERY of these forms separately in ABVFP.

With the new ABVFP 3.0 (in beta testing) this check will be a Admin option, so you will only need to set up the form in ABVFP once.

Ok, so don't copy the same form onto each page, but use Form 1 for index page, Form 2 for page 2, Form 3 for page 3.... and so on?

Or, copy the form from page to page BUT change the hidden field for each form, and set up each form separately in ABVFP.

Yes, each one must have its own Formid value. Of course, in ABVFP control Panel, you also need to change the page URL.

Yes, it is ok that you change the standard form. It is just a bonus form, you can edit it as required.

No, you can't use the glass button. This can only be used for links, not for submitting. You can, however, use an image button, on condition that you name it "submit"

When setting the ABVFP form properties, should i check the box in the Form Processing section, and fill in details as required or are the details in the General section sufficient? I'm guessing that as one cancels out the other, you need to choose accordingly...

Another thing, seeing as all my pages have a form on them, do they need to published with a .php extension?, i have published all my pages but get the following error message:

Not sure what you mean. If you use ABVFP you DON'T use the built in form processor.

Pages in html or php: if you have used ABVFP your form pages can be either html or php.
If, instead, you have used the BV built in form processor, your pages need to be published as php.

I have the form all unzipped, and am filling in the info page for install.
What do I enter for host? have tried voda, cp addy , I keep getting error message that it cant connect.

DB host: localhost if you are a VH customer. Other hosters might have something different.
Database name: CPusename_ABVFP . This means that if you have created a database called ABVFP and your username is abcdefgh theh the database name is abcdefgh_ABVFP . CP username MUST be your own Control Panel username.
The same for DB user: if you have created a user for the ABVFP database, and you have called this user abc, the actual user is abcdefg_abc.
Password: whatever you have named your password when you created the database.

Ok, I got the form all loaded and info completed, when i hit the submit button to test it ,I get an error page, Can you help me?

Thanks Naval for directing me to the ABVFP info which I have set up successfully so far.

I am not sure though now how to install it into the existing BV contact form on www.diannespain.com/contact.php . Presumably because this was an automatically produced form it looks like I cannot chage the "Action" field under Form Properties/General. (it is greyed out).

So, do this mean I need to manually build a new form. If so, where have the tutorials 1 and 2 gone. The only videos now are for the Form Wizard.

However - a Reset button did not come with the form and from what I gather from the pdf instructions - there should be one. So I put one in based on the old automated contact from from www.diannespain.com/contact.php

Hi, my web site is; www.americaneaglesigning.com. I downloaded ABVFP and completed everything according to the instructions. Unfortunately it's not working. When I click on the submit button i get the "error" page. I don't see anything wrong???

You do have some problems, but the main one is that you get a "Illegal form submission" error. This means that the form URL, as provided in the ABVFP control panel, is not correct. Check it.

Then, you also have a problem with the captch: the code of the captcha has 2 positions where you need to change the www.yourdomain.com.... you only changed the first, so the image renewal doesn't work.

Javascript validation: it doesn't work, because you have named your form 2Contact form" . Replace the white space with an underscore: "Contact_form"

Field order is not correct, you need to fix it.

And, of course, the error page is the default one that came with the zip, it would be better if you used your own, built according to the instructions.

The forms will be registration forms, one for the "Landlords" page and one for the "Tenants" page, purely to gather basic requirements from each.

I paid someone to build this site for me before i found BV, and they want rather more than i would like to pay in return for building two forms i would like added.

They told me they would use Dreamweaver to build the forms, do you think it would be possible for me to build the forms using ABVFP and once completed, pass them to the designers to be inserted into my site?

I was also thinking of asking them to hand control of the site over to me completely, so that i could add/edit/remove content as i pleased, free of charge. In your opinion, could someone with my limited experience manage this?
Is it more than changing the hosting and managing the files?

You don't build forms with ABVFP, you PROCESS forms. Have the forms built, then set them up with ABVFP if the database of ABVFP is ok with you

Your site is DB driven, as i see search features etc. Depending on the script and your experience tis might be possible or not. What can i say ?

You have two fields in your form named "number" . The script tries to create two columns with the same name, in the DB table, and this causes the error.

Please note the email filed should be "Email-e" or "Email-Re" (R = Required)

Also, none of your fields have the extensions that they should have for ABVFP to be able to perform field validation.

I got the form working so it sends me the emails, I'm not sure about the extensions though. Don't understand what they are.

The form is for uploads, it has three upload fields but I only recieve two files on email when I upload three through the form. can you advise me what I'm doing wrong there. My form is www.portret.is/pontunarform.php

I'm testing the forms i've made using the ABVFP on my site

Its going ok, apart from when i fill in the form on the home page of my published site and hit submit.
I go to check if the form data arrives in the email account i have set up for it, which it does.

However, what also arrives in my BV email account is the autreponder message that is supposed to go to the visitors inbox. I know it doesn't go there because i used one of my other personal email accounts when i filled the form in, and nothing has arrived there.
My BV email receives 2 emails when you hit submit.

Do you know why this might be happening?

In case you go to my site to check what is going on, i am only working on the form on the index page until i get it fixed, and will do the other forms when i know the index page form works.

Rez, to see the database go to your control panel into phpmyadmin

Your visitors Email field must be "Email-Re" and not "Email-ERG"

When ABVFP doesn't recognize the visitors email (due to the wrong naming of the field) it sets the visitors email address to be the same as the Administrators one, that is why you get the autoresponder in your own email address.

This is done (setting the email address to be the same as yours) for deliverability purposes (no email address would result in the mail being blocked by most ISPs).

I'm creating a small form my visitors must fill in to receive a free PDF download,
How can i make it so that upon hitting the submit button, the PDF will be sent to their inbox?

You can't. What you CAN do is:

1. Include the link to download the document in the "thank you" page that users see after the submission

2. if you don't want to make this link publically available on the website, you can include the link in the autoresponder email.

Yes, but then the users would have no means to continue surfing your site.

in the form action, after the URL add the target:http://www.yourdomain.com/ABVFP/dbts_abvfp.php" target="_blank

Add, in the thank you page, a "Close Window" button.

When you click "Download Free Report" on my index page, it links to the "Free Report" page ok, but when you submit the new form it goes to an error page, any idea why? I've checked everything i can think of...

Your error page seems not built properly, so no error message appears. So i can't say what might be wrong. Did you add the necessary code in the Start of Page of the error page ??
