Thread: Help me customize my error & thankyou pages

Hey friends,
I have succeeded in making my ABVFP forms work, but I would like to change the look of both the error and thank-you pages to fit my desired look - that is, I don't want to use the template that comes with the ABVFP downloads. I know it can be done but I don't seem to be getting it. Kindly help!!

The tankyou page is a simple html page. Built it as you like, in BV, and simply publish it.

The error page is a php page, with some particular requirements. You can, however, customize it very easily:

in the zip you downloaded, there is a folder caled "BV Pages". Open this folder, and open the "errorpage". Customize the visual part in whatever way you like, just make sure that you don't touch the code that resides in the Start of Page tag of the page html.

Also, you should keep the text area, though you can resize it or customize the font size and color and the background color as you like.

Thanks Naveldesign for your assistance. I did like you instructed me by going to the folder - BV Pages, customized the visible elements only, published it and tried to check if the changes were effected, but nothing happened. I wonder whether I should have saved the pages to my blue voda folder where all my website pages are, or just save them to downloaded zipped BV Pages folder or what am I doing that is not right? I have done both-nothing is happening. Sorry for bugging you with such things that should be common sense - I promise not to be so hard headed again once I get this one right.

I can see that you have customized both the thank you page and the errorpage. Click on http://www.khbc.ac.ke/ABVFP/errorpage.php and http://www.khbc.ac.ke/ABVFP/thankyou_page.html though you still need some work there. Where you need to publish them, is entirely up to you, and it depends on the settings you have set for your form.

I did customize by just swapping the images on my public BlueFTP manually - brute force, I suppose. However, after doing so, I still have the words "your header goes here!" and "your menu bar here" and I ain't got no clue where to go get them out and acqually insert my menu etc. It seems that we are heading somewhere. I appreciate your help through it all.

Ok, here is what you need to do. Enter your ABVFP CP. Select "Modify the settings of an existing form" and select your form from the drop down.

Set the thank you page URL to be : http://http://www.khbc.ac.ke/thankyoupage.html and the error page to be http://www.khbc.ac.ke/errorpage.php . Memorize the settings.

Now, open the two pages of the zip, and customize them as you like, then save them and publish them in your public_html . You are done.
