You are invited to join us on our 1st Annual Group Cruise! This is a group cruise that I put together a few months back and I have a few more cabins available that I wanted to offer up to my Vodahost Peers. Here is the brief Itinerary:

7 Day Western Caribbean from Galveston, TX

Sailing on: Sunday Sept 23rd, 2007Ship: Carnival Conquest Spend seven days cruising to the most beautiful ports in the Western Caribbean aboard the spectacular Carnival Conquest.

With the lavish entertainment, delectable food, inviting decor, spacious staterooms, relaxing lounges and pampering service, this is sure to be an enjoyable and much need vacation for many of us. Click here to see a pdf file of all the various activities on board.

The space I have left consists of 6 cabins:

(2) Inside Cabins for double occupancy $290.00/person
(3) Oceanview Cabins for double occupancy $410.00/person
(1) Balcony Cabin for double occupancy $560.00/person

In addition to the costs per cabin, there is also port fees, and gov. taxes that are assessed per person. That amount is $201.88 per person.

The prices above include your stateroom and ALL food aboard ship(with a few exceptions). Dinner will be served at 6:15, as the 8:30 dinning is already full.

Also included in the cruise will be a $100 onboard ship credit per stateroom (to be used however you want to aboard ship), and a bottle of wine or sparkling cider and chocolates in your stateroom on arrival, compliments of "Journeys Happen", as our way of thanking you for joining us!

The prices above, DO NOT include airfare, from where ever you may be traveling from to Galveston, Texas.

The ship leaves on Sunday the 23rd, so you should plan on arriving the day before on the 22nd; the returns on Sunday, Sept 30th. Many people will be flying out that same day, but you would want to book an afternoon flight.

If you are interested you will need to access my website at: www.journeyshappen.com, complete the contact form and send it to me as soon as possible. This offer is only good until April 1st and is on a first come first serve basis. Since I only have 6 cabins left you will want to act on this pretty quickly. In order to reserve your cabin, you will need to put up a $25/per person deposit by 4/1/07. Then another $225 will be due no later than 4/26/07 with the final payment due by 7/10/07. You can cancel your reservation with me anytime before 7/10/07 and receive your FULL deposit back. After 7/10/07, cancellation penalties do apply.

You will be asked if you wish to purchase Vacation Protection Insurance and this is optional. The cost of this coverage is $99/adult for inside cabins and $129/adult for outside cabins.

As an added bonus, I will be working with a few of our other VodaHost Peers to schedule a personal tour for our group in Montego Bay and also Cozumel. These will be tours for Voda people, by Voda people. What more can you ask for!!

I wish I could, but have a commitment that takes me into October. If you do one in the winter - let me know!!!!

And if any of you haven't ever been on a cruise - these prices are fantastic - and you can't go wrong.

Ok, this trip sounds fabulous and the price is reasonable, the only thing for me is the time of travel. Not the best time for me. January & February are good months for me. I definately would like the balcony room and some of the day excursions........jeez there are so many, I was having a tough time choosing............swimming with the dolphins, traversing through the rain forrest, white water rafting..........woooa!

It sounds absolutely wonderful, Cindy. But I just can't get arrangements made for this one. But maybe next time.

This sounds like a very "hectic schedule" how can you do all that in 7 days ...

So Cindy, you are going? Who else is going that I know? Who are you sleeping with? lol - like who is in your cabin?

When are you travelling to Texas? Do you have to work for the entire cruse? Like fill me in ....

Not trying to take away the expensive cabins - but after many cruises, I take the least expensive interior cabins - cuz I'm never in it except to sleep! Then I feel less guilty on the extras I might spend.

Beth! Absolutely the way to go. Hopefully most people are out and about enjoying the onboard activities or in Port on excursions! That's why I only have 2 inside rooms left.

Holly: Hey girl...I take it you've never been on a cruise ship? You don't have to do everything on the excursion lists or all the activities on board. They are all optional. I want to try and set up a tour in Montego Bay with Beez and Cozemel with Choco for the people just in my group for a personal tour. Plus we voda volks would get to meet. That would be so cool!!

My husband and 9 year old are sleeping with me. lol We have a balcony cabin, primarily for me to step out there and have a smoke. There are a few others coming on the cruise that smoke to, so lets just say my cabin is the smoking room...or at least the balcony. So far I have about 20 people going. Some I know and some I don't. No one on the voda forum is going yet, which is why I posted this, to see if we can get any last minute takers, since I have 6 extra cabins. But If I don't get any more people to go on the cruise, I loose those 6 cabins at this group rate. So I'm putting the word out, if anyone is interested.

Work? Heck NO. I'm cruising! lol. The group is simply to take advantage of great group rates instead of paying individual rates. I have people going to celebrate their anniversary, just to get away, going because a friend is going, going because I'm making them go, etc. Everyone is on their own once they board the ship. If they want to get together they can. There are lots of things to do on board...hang out at the pool, get a spa treatment, go to the casino, there are night clubs on board for dancing, and many other activities. Then in port you can elect to go on an excursion, or just venture out on your own. It's totally up to you.

We will actually be flying into Houston the day before departure (Sat 9/22) and stay somewhere in Galveston that night. Then board the cruise the next day. Depending on when everyone is flying in, we may rent a van or shuttle to drive us all to Galveston. Then I'm getting a group rate at a hotel there. When we come back into port at 8:00am in the morning on 9/30, I plan on driving to Houston and flying out that afternoon. Some others are going to stay the night and fly out the next day. Again..it's totally up to you.

If you've never cruised before, I think it is better to go the first time with someone who has, so you learn all the ends and outs. That's one of the nice things about going as a group. I will be emailing all of my group several times before the cruise to give them packing tips, update on tours, flights, etc.

Holly, if you think you might be interested, you will want to have someone go with you so that you can share a room. All the rooms I have left are doubles. Plus it's just fun to have a roommate! Of the people that I know that are going...they are a crazy bunch that love to have fun. One couple is taking their 11 year old, who is my son's best friend. That way the kids can occupy themselves at the Kids Club onboard ship. I also have a built in sitter...my hubby..! He's not a drinker or gambler and I like to do both.

I hope you seriously consider doing this Holly, we could have so much fun. Just gotta get some of our other voda peers to come to. CL, Liz and Beth can't, but I bet we could find a few. What about Kate? I wonder if she's seen this thread yet? ummm gotta go find that girl!! Anyway, if you have any other questions, feel free to email me to!! Come on....do you know someone you could get to come with you?

I have cruised before and love it! Carnival is great and for the folks that are going I suggest the kayaking/snorkling excursion in Cozumel. The kayaks are clear so you can see the reefs and fish, the guides are great and the Margarita's are pretty stiff!

Fabulous prices by the way!

Cindy, I am jealous! I would love to go but won't be able to this year. I promised myself everything on my to do list would be checked off before another big vacation.

I hope that everyone that has a chance to go... does... it is well worth it!

Thanks for checking in Dori and for the tips!! We'll see what we can do to put together one for next year as well. I will be doing at least one group cruise per year. This is the 1st! I know about those to do lists!!! Just stop adding to it and then you can go on your next big vacation!! lol

If you do a cruise in Aug/Sept - I'd recommend one to Alaska - then do one like this one in Jan or Feb :) - What can I say - I'm picky when I go where LOLOL

Beth: Yes..ahhhh Alaska! Actually, that will probably be my next group cruise, simply because it's closer to Colorado! So you think Aug, Sept is the best time to go to Alaska. I know there are more travel discounts in late September. The temp a bit milder and yet many summer activities still around. I think it would be neat to do an Alaska River Cruise during the Winter months. I would love to see the Northern lights and try my hand at Dog Sledding. But I have a hard time connecting "Cruise" with "Cold Weather"! lol. Ok...maybe 2008 we'll shoot for a Sept Alaska cruise.

Holly....you can jump ship at any time! Just be careful...you may end up in the news as missing! lol

Hey, Hey you All! Had a WONDERFUL CRUISE!! Everyone had a Great time, weather was perfect, food was great, met new friends on board, learned some new dances, lost a little in the Casino, got plenty of rest and relaxation, ate some more, slept some more, got a tan, won a little in the Casino, enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, no one got sea sick, learned how to play real poker in a poker room, learned how to make animals out of towels and much, much more! Wish you could have been there. Hey, Lady...what did you do on your birthday? I thought about you! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!
