What type of pictures make you want to buy jewelry?

I am a jewelry designer who is in the process of updating my website. When you shop online for jewelry what is most important to you? Do you want pictures of the jewelry only, or pictures of jewelry on a model so you can see how the jewelry looks on a person? Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input.

Extreme closeups.
Have one picture with the model and one with a closeup of the jewelry.

I agree with Mark. I have shopped for interesting Silver with Lapiz and
liked the sites that had the pics that you could enlarge. Seeing on a
model would also be great. It is hard to really tell how large,small they are in just a picture without it being on a model.

On a model, definitely. Then perhaps a pop-up window with a good close up, to show the detail.

Hi, have a look on ebay for photographic light tents for taking your images & some good lighting that will give you around 6000k of light. If your using flash, bounce it off a white surface to reflect it onto the item. But 3 lights will give a better result. There is some good infor in some of the sellers shops with how to make best use of lighting.
You can also get 1 meter squares of silk on ebay that will give you some nice backgrounds if needed.

Chris makes a good point, but I find these tents on ebay are expensive and you can do it yourself ..
