Thread: Myspace.com Browse Search

Can anyone create a browse search like myspace.com? I need one for my website so that profiles can be found easier. I only want the browse search to search for artist names & music genres.

People here could probably CREATE one but there are tons of em already out there on the market. Some are even free! If you do a search for them im sure you will come up with some.

Hm.... If the pages are dynamically created, from the database info, i am not sure that such a script (of the available on the net) would be able to search correctly. They usually browse the files, so the only way these search scripts would work, would be if your script also creates static html for each listing (i doubt that).

A database search script has to be custom built after examination of your database structure.

I did search at google.com but I didnt find anything simular, just normal search engines.

Heres a list i found in about 3 minutes.. some are customizable, some do html, some do them all, some cost and some dont..some you have to have knowledge how to install and make them work as they are in cg- and perl scripting..

I had a look at all of these scripts. As said, they can index all text and metatags in EXISTING pages. If you need such a search script, they are fine.

But, none of them, will perform a database search.
