Thread: Using Bluevoda on other computers

Does anyone know if you are able to use bluevoda from an external drive (such as a memory stick / CD)? I would like to be able to use it at work, but due to our strict policies, I am not allowed to install the program on my work computer. All pages I upload etc... are saved to a memory stick anyway and I use these on my home PC, but am I able to actually run Bluevoda (the program) from a memory stick / CD?

Yes, it can be done, but all working files must remain germain to the Blue Voda (sub)folder and a properly loaded BV program to a separate folder/directory....basically using a single external drive for a "public" load of BV (the program) and a sub-load of BV files...
Preview will not be usable, however, as this requires BV to be loaded onto the C drive or Desktop to interface with IE.

So when I click to install Bluevoda, instead of overwriting the program which is already on my machine (C: drive), do I install it to the external drive and run it from there?

Preview etc... is not an issue, as I will just upload my pages and check them live rather than previewing. The changes I will make on a daily basis will only be minimal, but would just like to do it at work rather than when I get home.

Yes....actually install a new BV onto the external - manually specify during installation. (Don't try to copy from pre-existing loaded version..it won't take)
You can then COPY your entire BV folder (in MY Documents) to the external as well.
Use this external solely for this BV function.....
