Default Boy did I mess up

Hi I think I messed up big time. I installed a new hard drive since my computer crashed and I had all of my web pages etc. on crashed hard drive. Now I am trying to reset everything by downloading all of my web pages from the internet which I did. I saved them no problem. However what ever I try clicking on the website builder is not working. I cant go on forum from website builder I can not preview my pages I cant click anything it does not work. It probably is something so minor and I cant figure it out. Has anyone had this problem and how can I resolve this. I need to be able to change my menu etc. thanks so much for any help, Lucia

Ciao Lucia..
It may be much simpler to uninstall Blue Voda and re-install it then to fix it manually.. Another alternative is to run Repair from your control panel.
Hope this helps.

Hi Carlos thanks so much for your quick reply. I went on to my control panel and I do not see where I can run repair from my control panel. I did re-install the website builder and it seems it is locked for some reason I cannot click anything. thanks again Lucia

One of 2 things:

1. Your PC is overloaded, ie, not enough RAM.. Check to see if other applications are running at the same time.. Also, restart your PC and try again.

2. The installation file you downloaded is corrupt.. Re-visit vodahost website and redownload the program again.. But before you do that, ensure that you uninstall the current one.

*Note: If you are running an Anti-Virus, it may be a good idea to disable it while you download the program and enable it again after you're done.

Don't know if you got it handled yet, but the same thing just happened to me, and it turned out that when I got the new hard drive, reinstalled mt usual stuff, I had to reconfigure my norton stuff, as it was not letting me do anything.
Felt like a goober for not thinking of it, but what the heck? I am a real newbie..
good luck.

Red face Re: Boy did I mess up

Sometin similar has just happened to me. My laptop went belly up, I have sent it for repairs - but I will loose everytin on the hard drive. I went out and bought another laptop while I am waiting on my other one to be repaired. I had to download and re-install blue voda site builder and then down loaded all my files again so I can work on my site. but alas it keeps sayin when I try to open my pages that it is an unknown format . Please dont say I have to start all over again ? .

Yet another Norton Victim...

Well Liz.. anyone could have fallen into that trap.. I believe Norton has taken itself so far that it became a problem in its own right.. I'd rather have a avirus than Norton.

I have a feeling that's what is causing the problem.. that's the reason I suggested to Lucia to shut off anti virus first.

I am in total agreement with you.

Not necessarily... The files you are trying to open in BlueVoda may not BlueVoda Files.. The files you downloaded to work on, need to be in a BV format so that BV can read them... If you have them in HTML format then you need to copy their HTML Codes into BV to see what they look like.

1. After your LT Crashed, how did you recover your files..?? Did you download them off the net..??
2. If that's the case, that means you do have your website live.. what's the URL...?
3. The files you are trying to open, what format are they in.. ie, can you give us the file extension..? You can that out by right clicking on the file and checking its properties.
4. What happens if you attempt to change the name of one of these files by adding ".bvp" at the end..?

Hi ez-ez, the url to my site is www.tcoti.eu . I downloaded the files using an FTP program filezilla, the file ext is html. I did try renaming them to bvp, but when I look at them they are still showing as html documents.

And thank you for helping me try resolve this.

Paddy.. Open a new BV Page.. Open a HTML Box (Top Icon on the left side menu).. Copy the code below and paste it in that box... Read further, there's more to do..

Don't give up... we're getting closer to the solution... by getting closer to the problem.. I wish I knew that from the start, the symptoms you described seem to do with your browser.. A possible problem is that you have some type of software or your browser itself blocking popups..
Ensure that your Anti-Virus or Popup Blocker is disabled and try to restore your Browser default settings... lets try this and see what happens... you can always do this after work and post the result here... I'll check later.
