You can look through the help tutorial videos with the link at the top of the forum. http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/hyperlinking-making-all-come-together/9315-linking-your-pages-together-creating-hyperlinks-text-images-etc.html
But if you have the site name of http://www.mysite.com Your about us page would be called http://www.mysite.com/about_us.html If using 2 words when naming your page, don’t forget to place a ( _ ) symbol between the words when linking to them.
Chris.
A url can be broken down into elements. Each needs the following;
1 -http://www.
2 -your domain name
3 -your page or file name
4 -and the extension of the page or file (html, php, pdf, mp3, wmv etc..........)
So if your domain name was ( mywebsite) and the page name was (page1) and it was a regular web page it would appear like so;
http: //www.mywebsite.com/page1.html
If you were linking to a song ( mysong ) on your website it would look like this; http: //www.mywebsite.com/mysong.mp3
Hope that helps.
Andy
PHP- is a blast!
Tip- as you work its easy to get confused, moreso when you start adding pages. Write them down each time you create a page and check it off as you link to it. After a couple of times you'll have them memorized and the most recent appear in the drop down menu when you edit the NavBar.
Yea thanks for all your help but you know how its www.mysite.com/about_us.html how would i know what my site is? i guess i register a domain first before i link my pages or what? can someone please tell me :)
If you join Vodahost you will get a free domain. Have a look at the link below for price's. But you will need an account with them. If you have a domain, you can point it at your account with vodahost or transfer it.Originally Posted by danielborysowich
