Looking for a thread on removing old files from FTP

I hope someone can help me!

I saw a post here recently about removing old files by looking at the dates of modification. Does anyone know where it is???

I am assuming that to remove old gif files I just republish all my pages and the gif files with an old date on them can be removed? Does that make sense?

You can delete files from the ftp area of BV & the files are more recognizable this way as it looks like windows. NOTE: don’t do what I did & had a folder accidentally highlighted as you don’t get a second chance when deleting OUCH!. You may be better of doing this through c panel as the file go into a deleted file bin that you can retrieve if a mistake is made.
Would be nice if the file area in c panel was more like windows with dates & alike.

I've had to delete some files that I no longer needed
and they were 'sizey', so I used C panel. It came
in handy when I accidentally deleted one .jpg that
I needed on my index page! I just pulled it out of the
trash, and moved it back into index. Just don't get
into the habbit of emptying the trash bucket too soon!
