Page Size Lay Out?

What size should a page be? I understand that the length can be quite long but whats a good width?

Usually 800, but the standard is changing to 1024. However, i still reccomend 800, as most users have, usually, open a side bar (f.e. Favourites) that limits the actual screen width.

Hi!

The most popular width and the one that ensures that ALL users can view your page properly is 800 pixels wide. Some prefer 1000 but there are still people who will, when viewing that width, have to scroll sideways which is not a good thing. Some use the 1000 and keep the main body of their page to 800 while using the extra 200 for non-essential things i.e. Google ads.
