Its posible that you have a hidden or tranparent field or object outside of
your 800 width.
You can check this by setting to 800 x whatever and saving straight away
and then look at the setting again.
If the setting has changed then select ALL and look for the rogue item
Every time you work on a page, if you put anything - anything at all, outside the width you have set - it will automatically have to change the width of the page to account for it. Be very careful to never put anything outside the width and it won't change on you. And anytime you do put anything outside, you'll have to go back and change the width when you move it inside.
Also when setting the width to 800 stop short by an eight of an inch from the 800 mark.
This will eliminate the bottom(left to right) scroll bar completly
Thanks David, Undelicia and Bethers for the information. It seems to work but am still having some problems with the bottom of the page. I will apply your suggestion to the bottom of the page and that should do it.

What problem are you having with the bottom? The page will always stretch to fit what you put on it - I rarely tell my page the bottom size - let it stretch naturally- then I go put a dot under my last element to give a little space below the last text.
(If you're talking about preventing the last line of text in a text box from presenting as if it was set for "1.5 lines" you only need to remember to hit the spacebar once more, allowing the box to reform -- that way you don't even need to add a character that may be visible.)
If you're not talking about that issue, well then, "never mind"......![]()
