Problem with the ftp & databases

Hello!
We have a problem with the ftp & databases:
1- With Ftp:
When we upload a file through ftp to the server, we cant see this file via web server.
2- With Databases:
When we access to the PhpMyAdmin, and see the data stored in the tables, they differ from the data used by the web aplications
