i am trying to publish a family photo album on my site (password protected) and I downloaded "gallery". i uploaded 230 pics from windows xp and none of them appear. Also, I don't understand the layout of this program. anyone had any success with this type of thing? or does anyone have a better idea (something easier, for the slow people :) )

The two most popular here on the forum are JAlbum and Porta. These programs create picture viewers with many different skins. JAlbum is use the most. You can find them here; JAlbum > http://jalbum.net/ Porta > http://stegmann.dk/mikkel/porta/ Note- for some reason the JAlbum site is down right now. It is usually up and I have not heard of them stopping their free service. Perhaps try later. Andy

I have used gallery before and had no trouble importing images under 'properties'. I think they have to be jpg , is that what you are using? Another good one I like, is 'Momento Express'. They have a free trial download available; http://www.momentodvd.com/getmomento.php You can see it in use below on my music site , and select 'heritage'. |

i downloaded porta. I am going to play with it and see if it is easier. i have a million pics and I just want to drag and drop all the pics at once. I think that is my "Gallery" problem. Anyway, thanks for the help. I love BV! (the forum ROCKS!) |

Well, here's how I did mine, although it was not porta. I named my album and saved it as an html in my blue voda document folder. Then, I used 'tools, ftp manager' , connected, and selected my album document on the left side, and transferred it over to the server by drag and drop into the public_html folder. Then, went back and created a new page with a link to that album. example: http://www.yourwebsite.com/yournewalbum.html (the link is for example only, I hope it is not real). |
