The best way to achieve this is using a table. First- count the letters in the word you wish to put verticle. The create a table that is one column by how ever many rows equals your word (i.e. sign would need 4 rows).
    Make the order - 0 -.

Now put one letter in each cell and move the sides of the table in and then position where needed. It is even a good idea to center each cell
    content.

Thats all there is to that one!

Andy's method works well- but most often when you see it online - they've used a fancy script or put it in an image.

A second alternative, bit longer solution, is to create your text in PowerPoint, make the text box smaller in width and longer height, the text will automatically fit the new box. Or if you want a graph like readable text, rotate it. Copy and paste in Paint and save a *.gif or *.jpeg

99% of all the verticle text you see on peoples websites are images such as gifs. Images are the only way you can get verticle text to look nice, if you try stacking letters it mght look a bit ****py, click the the below for a nice piece of software that will help you achieve this....

I use the built in features in Photoshop which allows you to select fonts, colors and all you have to do is type in the word and then save it for the web as a Gif or Jpeg after which you can copy and paste or import as a picture into blue voda.
