Despite having always made back ups of all my files I never considered that the theft of my equipment might occur (backed up on a portable hard drive). Early Xmas present for me was theft of my PC etc! New PC (Courtesy of Ins.Co) but no replacement for my BVP files. Question is do BV have copies on their server? PLEASE, PLEASE SAY YES! www.dawnbreaker-solutions.com |

If it was just this site www.dawnbreaker-solutions.com? It will still be on your server & you can download the files from c panel or FTP.

Bad luck indeed. Unfortunately you will have to create new pages from the existing html pages and then tweak them to fit, prior to saving and publishing again (if you make changes.

Watch out, in case whoever stole your computer knows anything about websites. If you have clicked the remember button, the thief could access your site and do goodness knows what. As for the stolen BV files, Bill has said it all. I usually have a single folder on my website where I store backups of all my BV files in the bvp format, just in case................. Better luck in 2007 |

Thanks to you all for your responses, Chris - I'm afraid there aren't any BVP files on CPanel, just HTML pages. I guess I face some hard work now but at least the images are still on the server! All my LogIn detais are in an encrypted folder so at (I hope) there isn't a secuirtyissue. Cheers and Thanks. Brian |

I little tip on recovering/copying your html files to your new compuiter. You have 2 options: 1..FTP everything down 2..Import a html file. If you ftp everything, you will also have to download all your images as well because when you republish, you will have empty image boxes. If you Import, your images will be in your cache, and you can republish without probs...... |
