    Default A new website

If I wanted to purchase a new domain, would I be able to use my same account to host another website?

How does it work? And where do I go? Would I need to make a new public_html folder?

No, you will only have one public_html folder in your account.

What happens, is that you ADDON your new domain name to your existing account (in your Cpanel) and the addon routines will add a new folder to your public folder and therefore will be a seperate entity/website with its own distinct name.

Be careful when publishing to your new website. Make sure that you publish to the new folder for your new name
and to your public folder for your first website.

PS. you can purchase a new domain name from Vodahost´s domain section

    have fun

I just purchase a new domain name. I'm alittle confused as to how I can host it under the same account as a separate website.

I would be an add-on domain - so when you publish, you would do so to public_html/newdomainname

That puts it into it's OWN folder in your control panel. The home page would be published to that as index - and would become the home page to the addon domain.

It's a structure - and now, after being published - this new home page (index) published to the addon file - will show up on the web as:
    www.newdomainname.com

If you look at the top two links in my signature - they are both addon domains - only one who would know that is me and the hosting company.

In the BlueVoda folder in my documents would I need to create a new folder? I saved the new page as an index and I published it but it's not working. Could you give me a step by step instruction? By the way, I went to addon domain and did that, do I need to redirect it? here's the new domain www.balboa87.org

    Lost my thread.
Good idea to have separate folders.
Use the Publish Web page button in BV and on the last line type: public_html/balboa87

Remember to change it back to public_html so you don't inadvertedly make changes to ...capitaltrace...
Which you did already, go back and publish the index page for capitaltrace and then repaeat the above for balboa87.
BTW does the name Blau ring a bell?

Thanks, I followed your instructions but it's still not working. Do I need to redirect it?

    You shouldn't have to redirect.

Beth, he has saved the www.balboa87.org as the index page for www.capitaltrace.com

OK, it's coming up in both places, so you must have accidentally published the balboa page without the /balboa87 after the public_html - which we've all done on occasion.

Just go back in - open your capital trace page - and republish it - to the public_html (without the /balboa87). You'll always have to make sure you have that pointing to the right directory when you publish.
