Thread: connecting to mySQL remotely

Hi

I am trying to connect to a database directly from my laptop in order to create a java app. How do I go about setting up the connection to the database remotely?

When you say "remotely"...What exactly do you mean? We might have a diffrent definition to that word than you do.

By remotely, I mean being able to connect to the database directly from my laptop without using the cpanel. i.e via an odbc connection.
