Thread: A trick for insert text from WORD without losing the formatting for Bill

I discovered this quite by accident but it is saving me a tremendous amount of time.

Select all of the text in your WORD doc.

Copy it

Open a text box in BV and insert the copied text.

Enlarge the text box to a size that would make your document look good if it hadn't lost its formatting.

Select all (Ctrl A) of the text in the box and DELETE it.

Do not delete the text box...just the text inside

Paste (Ctrl V) the text again. It will still be on your clipboard

Like magic...the text is in its original format.

I just tried that thinking what a great trick. It didn't work - with 3 documents - one of us and 2 of mine. Is there another step? And I don't see HOW it can work, as you can NOT have both centered text and text aligned any other way, within a BV text box???

And the tables do not appear at all.

I just finished doing about 20 pages of text this way.
After seeing your post I went back and tried it again.
It will hold the formatting until you click out side the box.
For the life of me I cant get it to repeat
Back to the drawing board. I will try again to duplicate the effect.

Yes, I saw that - but, as I told him - doing individual text boxes from just where the alignment changes, would be simple and fast.

But would also need new for the tables.

Again, it wouldn't take much, just copying and pasting segments.
