Thread: Redirected Domain and IP's

I have two sites, www.cateredvibes.com and www.cateredvibesdjs.com. The second is a redirect. I would like to buy hosting service from Voda Host for the dj site with a different IP than the the first. Can I do this and still control both sites from my computer?
I heard that this has some effect on google rank. Does it make a difference to have them on different IP's (they will both link back to each other)?

Yes, you can buy a new account with a dedicated IP address.

Duplicate content will hurt you with Google - so if the sites are going to be giving the same information - you could hurt yourself with both. If they are going to be giving new information - and not repeating - then having the 2 sites can be good. However, one site with all the good information is actually better - as you want to have a site that becomes an authority. When you split all the information into many sites, none become the authority.

Both ways work, btw. It depends on what your goal is.
