Thread: I am very new

hi BV members,i'm new to this awesome site so plz forgive me incase this doubt is a real silly one.
Should i proceed about my web site in this direction-
design all my web pages
then purchase a domain name
then publish the pages
or in some other direction...

That sounds like a sensible way to go about things. Remember though you will not be able to test your pages and links until you have published your site, so allow time for testing and fine tuning once you have bought your domain and registered for your hosting package. You may find this useful: getting started.

I had my Domain first, then designed my pages, then published. That way, as I designed, I could be sure they were publishing properly! I had some problems along the way I would not have been aware of at the time, had I not been able to publish first.

Also, if you know the domain name you want - and don't purchase it - you could wait and discover it gets purchased by someone else - and then you designed a site using a name, etc - that you can't get. I never design a site without having the domain name locked up.
