Red face A website with frames

    Dear Vodahost,
I'd like to create a frames page with Bluevoda software but have no idea how this is done.

    Can you help?

    With thanks,

Hi, what would you like the pages to do? & how many ifames do you want on a page.
Remember that iframes won’t work with everyone’s browsers, so you will get some visitors not being able to see what’s in the iframes.
Also SE’s don’t like iframes, so you will find it a little harder to get you site up the search engine pages.

    Hi Chris,
One page, divided in two across. The top window/frame with text instructions, the bottom half with an online quiz?
    Is this possible in BV?

I would think you wouldn't need the iframes. You could build your page using tables or without tables. For the online quiz you could use the Advanced Blue Voda Form builder.

    Dear Dori,
The quiz is something I've put together using the educational software "Hot Potatoes".

Having a window frame where they could quickly link to other reference pages would be handy.

Are tables the only option? If so, how do they work.

Hi, it sounds like you need 3 iframes on one page
    • One for your quiz
    • One for your reference pages
    • One for a menu to get to the reference pages.

So if I have it right? You can select from a menu a quiz that you have made with hot potatoes, & at the same time as the quiz appear in one iframe a relevant menu appears to help with the quiz in another. If some reference pages are needed with reference to that quiz, when you click on a link it will show up in the 3rd frame.
I hope this sounds right. Lol.
The main question is how lager area will the quiz take up on a page. IE: is it just a Q&A box with a couple of fields, or will it take up more space.

    Yes, your completely right ...

That's exactly what I'm looking for!

How can I do all that using BV software?

    Cheers,
    Catherine

    CatherineMarie:
If you look here you can see a single page that uses 1 i-frame, a menu and a text area

If you are looking for something along those lines, post again, and I will give you some help.............

Oh... as to the Q & A box, it should be quite large or at least larger than the frame with the menu and the other with the reference text.

Hi, you would need at least 4+ pages to start with depending on how you set up the answers to the questions in the reference area. Then at least this for each test. The best thing to do is set up your educational software on a page so we can see what size it is. If you do this & want it to show in a frame. Place it in the top left corner of a page & do not center the page. Then publish & post the link to that page. This part wants to be as small as pos, so if you have 3 frames on a 15” screen, you don’t want to be using the scroll bar. It just won’t work very well or look very nice.

    Cheers.
