Thread: simple question

Am I correct in assuming that I have to make 2 purchases when I host here using a domain name thats on another server..


1. buy the hosting service
2. uy the 9.95 per year domain hosting as well?

Voda was giving a free domain, dont know if that coupon ran out or not, as i havent checked lately, but generally speaking yes.. your DOMAIN name is generally a seperate charge from that of your hosting.

thanks...there's my trouble.....

Ok I got my previous domain to show up here...and my previous host has switched the servers to point toward to voda

when i click on my site in the vodahost domain page......the configue button is missing...the name servers are all grayed out ...and dont appear to be voda hosts...just some generic name

Have you added your domain via your control panel with "add On Domain"

If your domain was previously hosted elsewhere, you will need to add it as an add on domain in your control panel...

ok the cpanel keeps giving an error message that it cant add the domain....is it possible that because i just paid the fee...it's going to take a while...or am i still missing something......

Well you have access to your control panel, so you shouldn't be having to wait there ... perhaps your previous host has not made the transaction yet ... ??

Check your domain name at go daddy and see where it says your servers are ... this will tell you if the transaction has actually occurred yet ...

i checked...the servers are pointing to voda
