Thread: Site does not equal file published

I am having a problem on my index page navigation bar. The file I published has an "about us" navigation button, 3rd to last, last one being "home", but on the published site, I have two "home" buttons. I have tried republishing this page, but the issue doesn't seem to clear up. please help!

It looks fine when I look at it. It could be your cache playing games with you. I see the buttons home, products, on promotion, about us, contact us.

When the looking at the published page via the browser, try pressing the F5 button really fast a few times to clear the cache this should hopefully help.

Yep, it looks ok from here........definatly a cache problem only...........

Thanks for your help guys. I've tried everything to get to the page you see, but I am still getting a double home icon on the navigation bar. I will just have to take your word for it that you can see it as it's meant to be.

How are you viewing the page is it via the preview in browser button within BV or via the published address outside of BV?

Yes, you DO have a double "Home" button in your index page.

This is a common problem with menubars when you create your pages using the "Save as". It is only presented when you make changes in the menubar from page to page.

Solution: open your index page in BV. Copy the menubar. Then delete it. Paste it back in the page using the Paste icon (not the right click paste, nor the paste command). Save it and publish again.

That was not there this morning.....it read "about Us"....something funny going on.

I agree with david. I wrote out the buttons in my post above as i saw the buttons from top to bottom this morning so there is definatly something amiss there.

David, Mook : was this the first time you ever visited his page ? If you had visited in the past, could have been YOUR browser cacheing (in this case with an older, correct version of the menubar)

Or it could also be that simply Purple Patch was trying to correct the problem, so he had, when you saw the page, republished the index page (thus making it appear ok), then the button in the other page changed also and he republished that page too, thus creating again the problem in the index page.
