    Default speeds of uploads.

    when i upload a file to a vodahost server will the speed the file is uploaded be the same speed as my internet connection eg i have 2md broadband and it downloads at 150kps when i upload files will it upload at 150kps or will it be slower.

    Hi, i am not sure of the exact speed? But usually a lot, lot slower on uploading. You can get the same speed both ways, but it will cost extra.
    Well it costs extra in the UK.

    Usually upload is much slower than download. I am on a 4 MB ADSL and i can download with speeds up to 500 Mb, but i can rarely upload at more than 30 -50 Mb. And, it depends mainly on your ISP server load and connection to the internet backbone.

    something that i have found is also the type of software u use to upload on my current server i used a ftp program but my server woud spot letting me upload after a hour and i wave to log in would have to log in again. so i edited the software to reload the server ever 59min so i can upoad all day. i was just wondering how fast it is. i upoad files ranging from 1.1mb to 450mb. will the server cope with it.

    Hi, it might be worth a look at the TOS that Vodahost has. I believe some things like streaming video & other high use transfers with shared servers are not allowed.
    If assume this is to make it fair on all users & not bog the system down.
    What type of files are you transferring?
