Default Differences in linking pages/ saving text as image

When linking pages, what is the difference between a blank, parent, self, or top page?

Also, I converted headline text to an image in the text properties but when I publish it doesnt show up. I did this thinking that if visitors didnt have that font on their computer the text would not change. Is that a correct assumption? How can I get it to show up though?

    Thank you

_blank opens in a new browser window
_self opens in the same window the link was clicks
_parent and _top are used with frame, they designate which frame a link will open in

Thanks Watda, I was searching for this answer for 20 minutes as I have a 10 page site and only knew about the 'blank' option.

    Cheers,
