Question How do I restore Blue Voda program ?

Hi : I recently changed the hard drive in my computer. The old drive was crashed & I lost all of the info on it including the Blue Voda files of my website. (chairdoc.com)

I have downloaded & installed the Blue Voda program on my new HD.

I need to make some changes on my website. How can I re-input the web site into Blue Voda so I can revise it?

I did go to my control panel & downloaded a backup file, but I don't know how to get it into the program. I tried un-zipping it & putting the files in the Blue Voda program file folder. They will not open from there. I just get a critical stop & no load when I select those files.

    Windows XP SP2.

    Thanks!

    Hi Chairdoc,

    C:/My Documents/BlueVoda,

After the installation you will notice the above file was created automatically when U reinstalled BlueVoda.

Step 2. Copy all your folders and files into the above folder exactly as they were before. This is important as U cant jumble up the files N folders.

Step. 3 Open your BlueVoda program and select "open an existing page".
After the selection from your folder the page will open with if U are lucky
everything inact otherwise a few items may be missing.

Repopulate what ever is missing. U have to recheck all the pages.
Tedious? Yes! You will have to do it to find out whether your pages are still intact.

Hi, i can only suggest from the BV menu. File>New page>From Existing HTML Page>Check the radio button, Remote on the Internet. & enter your page url & it will down load. You will have to reenter some parts again, but will get you half way there.

    Good luck.

I couldn't get the saved files to load. I even tried downloading a fresh file with the Anti Virus & firewall off.

Saving the page as HTML from the web worked well though.
All I lost was a border, that I was going to change anyhow.

Thanks to you both for your help.

That got me out of a tight spot.... :O)

This is a perfect example of what I mentioned on a previous post about PC crashes. Anyone worried about losing their BV files might want to read it.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

    Well, I'm back again. :O(

I got all of my pages changed & "published" them. None of the changes are showing up.

Everything went to public_html. This should have overwritten the old pages - not ??

Cleared cache & cookies, danced on F5 key. NADA...

    Any suggestions ?

Is there a way to look at the files on the control panel & see if they actually changed ?

I was given an IP shared IP address of 75.126.169.140 I checked this in the control panel.

If I got to this in the address bar I get Icona Foto & Video ??

    I'm lost now.....

Cool Re: How do I restore Blue Voda program ?

I tried this today: I went to the file manager & deleted all of the previously uploaded files. Then I published the site again. Got the "successfully published" message on all pages...

All that showed up when I went to the site online was the directory. No pages were displayed.

I then restored the files from the recycle bin back to the public_html folder & now the old pages are up again. And it looks like I have 2-3 complete sets of files in the public_html folder now.....

Here is what the contents of the file look like:

    File Manager
Click on a folder icon to navigate.
Click on a name to view its properties.
    / public_html / (Current Folder)

    Create New Folder

    Upload file(s)

    Up one level

    cgi-bin
    755 Create New File
