Ive watched the FTP videos and for the life of me i can't a link for the files that actually load. For some reason every time I try to load from the site, it says, webpage cannot be displayed.
Okay, so we are assuming you have uploaded your files via the ftp method
You then provide a link to it like this
http://www.nameofyourdomain.com/nameoffile.???
You need to add the exact name of the file with it's extension ...
if it is a pdf called rocks
you would type http://www.nameofyourdomain.com/rocks.pdf

you have to be joking...
you mean ive been struggling and yanking my hair out because I thought I needed to FTP address and then when I finally got the solid addy...I didnt need it all along?!
dear god I need some coffee! :P
is there a specific folder i have to upload the file to?
the link still isn't working
I had orignally tried it in the public_ftp location, failed, and then in the public_html section, also failed.
and I really appreciate it Ladyeye
Add the file to your public_html folder via your FTP manager. Once added set the link up but be extremely careful that the part of the link after the / is exactly correct as Lady Eye previously mentioned, including its extension.
I must have done this about 300 times for one site of mine that had music samples on, and the amount of times they didn't work mainly because I put the name of the file incorrectly, it happens to us all!
One other thing I noticed too, when uploading a file, pdf, mp3, etc etc through your FTP sometimes you have to do it a couple of times for it to take.
It is quite easy once you do one, you'll wonder what all the worry was about : - )
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
