Hi Supermax

Are you inserting the image directly into your website page via the insert image tool in blue voda? You need to do this in this fashion and then publish the page. You cannot just upload images or pages via the ftp method, they all need to be inserted properly and published. As well, you cannot just copy and paste an image into the page, it needs to be inserted and published. As well, any image that you insert on the page from a folder within your own computer, well that image needs to stay in that folder, if you move the image around on your computer, the next time you open that page in your web builder, you will find a little red x - this usually alerts you that the path to the directory is no longer valid, meaning you have moved this image ..

Your domain name is arosgate.com and you publish your pages to public_html - this is the directory for all of your web pages that you build and publish ..

Have a read of my Simply Blue Voda Tips and see if this helps. Just like any other filing system, you want a simple file system with your website. Meaning navigation to and from all of your pages via all of your pages.

You don't need separate folders for anything unless you intend on having thousands of images or something. Then you might opt for folders to keep yourself organized. All of your files for this domain can be in the one folder public_html - this is the directory for your domain.

Name, save and publish your pages as name only ... if you name a page signatures - save it as signatures - publish it as signatures - and then when you type in the url for the navigation button signatures - type http://www.arosgate.com/signatures.html

Only when you are typing the url of the page do you add the .html

all links need to be done in this fashion ...

Name, save and publish as name only - all small letters, no capitals, no spaces unless the words are joined together by the use of the _ underscore symbol.

Link to your pages with the full url address followed by /nameofpage.html

Publish all pages to public_html directory via the publish tool in the blue voda web builder ...

The target area for all the links should be kept empty. This prevents a new page opening for every page of your site. Should you be linking to a page that goes off of your site set the target for that link as _blank - this will open a new page for that site, keeping a page of your own site open in the viewers browser.

Question Re: need help setting up my website

Thank you for the reply Lady

Lets start from the beginning of my problem.

1) When i try to login to voda talk forum i must try at least 5-8 times before i get in if i am lucky otherwise i must turn of my pc and turn it on again and make some 5-8 logins again.

2) Every time i use the VODA WEBBUILDER I MUST TURN OF MY PC AND THEN MAKE THE SAME RITUAL LIKE ABOVE.
It is only at voda forum it happends and not in the 9 other forums i`m member in.

Then the we come to the part of publishing my site.

I made that index file and inserted/saved/published only 3 images.
A small logo,a large banner and a really small picture(looks like a minus).
GREAT it worked. NOPE,nada,nothing.
I can se all the buttons, the small logos but NOT THE BIG BANNER.
No matter what i do.

So i got angry, sad and frustrated and called an expert in html.
Actually he is a programmer and worked for sime time in america for Microsoft. Nowdays he is a owner and running 25 webhotels here in sweden
Now i thot he will fix it in 5 minutes. NOPE NADA NOTHING.

Before he left he said to me: I have checked out youre PC and it runs perfecly but that blue vod webbuilder are ****. There is a bug somewhere in that program or in vodas servers...and belive me i have tryed worst program then bluevoda and they worked better than this.
Well what can i say moore after that.
I did a last thing. I downloaded webbuilder again and made it all from beginning again and....well it still is not working properly.
Like before i cannot see the big banner.

PLEASE tell me what to do? If i don`t get proper help to solv this i must go to another host.I don`t wan`t to do that but what else can i do.

So PLEASE help me out.

Regards Supermax

Supermax

I speak English and a little German and its not much of a hop to Swedish, some verbs change like bellen (bells in
Germany, barks in Sweeden) but lets try to keep it English.

When signing in to the forum.. check that box that says remember me. That usually works for me, especially if i sign in with aol, as aol constantly refreshes the ip, so the forum reads a new ip each time i view a page etc, so it wants me to sign in again.

As to your banner not appearing, it could still be your computer, but your firewall is blocking out the name of the picture. Especially if youve named it anything with "banner" in it. There are others too that firewalls and spyware blockers will zap. When i looked at your site.. i see indeed that you named it banner. IF you will change the name I will bet you it works just fine.

Karen

Talking Re: need help setting up my website

Thanks Karen!

That guy who was a html expert called me and said this: rename the picture "banner.gif" to "banner2" and make it in .jpg format. So i did. Yahoooo it worked.
So he was right there is a BUG in blue voda webbuilder.
Now we know that.
But still the first problem remains that i can`t login after using the webbuilder without restarting my pc.
If anyone can give me an answer to that problem i`ll tell the Nobel committee so he can get hes reward next year.

So i continue building the site and guess what..same **** again!

I `m trying to make that contact form working without sucess.
I tryed 15 times with different paths, url, and target but still it aint working.
Maybee i am stupid but then again...i can`t be that stupid.

SO ONCE AGAIN I´M ASKING FOR HELP TO SOLVE THOOSE PROBLEMS.
Please help me out couse i can`t stand it any longer.

BTW Karen: If you translate "bells" it would be "klockor" in Swedish.

Regards Supermax

Actually we've seen that problem before on this forum, Karen brought it to our attention - the use of the word "banner" in your images - doesn't work for all .. Karen will explain further I am sure. But .. this is likely the same that might be happening on your computer with the program itself. Your firewall is going to need bluevoda.exe and vodahost and anything voda added to it's trusted sites - And .. I think if you think about it, you will agree, there is no bug anywhere ....

You should post your question in the "Form" area of the form for a better response to this.
