Thread: Help with File Publisher

Ok here is what I have done so far.

1. Clicked File Publisher
2. Added the File to the list.
3. Put the big square on the page
4. Published the page
5. went to page URL
6. Noticed that the file WASNT popping up.

How come I cant d/l the file from the page with the publisher icon? Did I miss a step?

What type of file are you trying to upload with File Publisher?

a .pdf (x3)
a .zip file (x1)

the site is www.FiltrexSystems.com

It's basically fully functional atm.

The File Publisher is only used to upload the files and is not used to display or call up the files. Before you publish the page, you must create a link (text, image or button) to the file. In the URL field of the hyperlink dialog, type this for example: http://www.filtrexsystems.com/filename.pdf

For the other one: http://www.filtrexsystems.com/filename.zip

Now publish the file.

the NAME of the file or is it the whole link thing?

Glad you've got it. Either File Publisher, or File Manager, or FTP. All doing the same thing when uploading. Publisher maybe easiest for starters.

Publisher is the simplest by far =)

FTP is way out of my league

Tip: Once files are uploaded, you can delete that File Publisher shape (box) from your BV page and re-save it. Then should you later need to edit the page and publish again, the files will not upload again, if you don't want them to. Otherwise the pdf's or zip's will upload again.
