Thread: Help with New Website

Hi all;

I've been through the web site builder and have made a web site. (A lot tougher than I first thought). I have a domain and the web site is published. But it doesn't work right.

I can get to the home page and even click on some of the links. But if i try to view a page twice, I usually get a "page not found" message or a "404" error. Help! What is this??

Any ideas?

Also, if anyone is trying the "application" button, I have not put up that file yet. I'm stuck on this error thing.

On many of your links, uhe url does not include the .html extension.

Without this your link will not work.

Correct this and see if it fixes your problem.

No wonder you're a general.

The html extension is on all the links on the home page, but not on most of the other pages. When i get back home, I'll correct it.

I've changed the url's to include the html extensions. It has improved the function, but not all the pages work consistently.

Any other ideas out there??

Well if you are certain you have named and linked the page with the exact name, then perhaps you haven't yet published those pages that are giving you an error page ... has to be one or the other .. everything must match ...

Couple of things:
1. Your home page should be saved as index only, not index.html . Then you will have to correct all your links to read just www.qualityfinances.com

2. Your contact us and FAQ page links do not work from any pages -
I checked all the other ones from all the other pages and they all work.
So.. you might republish those pages, and make certain you save them with the same name you used in the links.
